I refuse to buy clothing with big labels all over it even for myself. I find it rather tacky. I hate for anyone to wear jeans with sequins, glitter, and colorful oversize pockets. I am thankful that my son (who has been picking his own clothes out for a few years now . . .he is 11) does not like that type of clothing at all. My children are their mother's children . . . they are very stylish :)

When my daughter was younger reading and grammar were her struggle. What I had to do was let her read what she was interested in . . . even if it wasn't necessarily school related. So, if she liked a certain magazine, I would order it and let her do her thing. First, she would just look at pictures but, eventually she started reading articles. I also make bi-weekly trips to the library and let her pick books that she was interested in reading (on her own). Also, she took to a series of YA books so, I brought her the series and every time the author released a new one I got it for her. And I tell her, "okay you have books to read" and make her read for half hour or hour. . . until she got restless. Can't learn if interest is gone. Now (at 16) she is my reader. She devours novels and is taking journalism classes.
My son has always excelled at reading and math. He tests advance. He and I are both left-handed. But I don't write with my paper sideways and I don't allow him to either. But he rushes, writes sloppy, and we fuss at each other when I erase it all and make him rewrite. And while he is excelling . . . his issue is he gets lazy and also bored easy. I do the same thing I did with my daughter. . he gets those Lego magazines (since he loves Legos) to read. Which he will sit and read and Nick Mag also BUT, making him read books is a constant battle. But one good thing, he really loves math.

I turn to music for everything I am going through. Love, life, pain, parenting, happiness, sex . . . haha . . . I got a list for everything.

But, one song that I play on my proud mother list is Regina Bell's If I Could. I played it when I was pregnant with my daughter then with my son. Now, every so often, I play it to remind of all the joy I felt waiting for their arrivals. For me that is the ultimate . . love my babies, I am going to do all I can for them song.

I do feel guilty when eating fast food but Mickey Dee fries are my weakness. I do love McDonald's smoothies. They are the best thing McDonald has added to the menu. I, however, have not had the Mango/Pineapple one. I haven't even seen the ad for it.
Truth: I did not know Canola Oil was the healthiest. I have always wondered, but forget to look and when I am in the store I just grab vegetable. Which I thought couldn't be too bad since it says vegetable. Now I know.
